Constellation Rail was founded in 2023 by Orion Newall to provide passenger car leasing services. Budd built SPV 1001 was the first car owned by Constellation Rail to enter service on the Naugatuck Railroad in Thomaston, CT in December 2023. Since then 1001 has hauled over 30,000 people and provided sustainable income for the railroad. More passenger car leasing opportunities are currently under construction.

In 2024 Constellation Rail started contract and consulting services on excursion passenger operations across the United States.

In 2025 Constellation Rail entered a partnership to make and produce child safe wooden trains along with HO and O scale model trains.

In 2026 the first wooden trains have arrived and the HO/O scale models are in the sample phase.
